Mar Hall secures planning permission for luxury woodland lodges as it elevates resort to premier destination
Planning permission has been secured for the development of 30 luxurious woodland lodges at Mar Hall, with completion anticipated in spring 2025. Set to transform the 240-acre estate, this landmark project will further establish Mar Hall as one of Scotland’s leading resort destinations.
The one-, two-, and four-bedroom lodges will blend rustic elegance with modern comfort. Thoughtfully positioned to frame panoramic views of the River Clyde and Kilpatrick Hills, each will offer a private entrance, outdoor terrace with hot tub, super king bedroom, dressing area, and a cosy lounge with log burner, creating a warm and inviting escape for couples, families, and groups.
The new lodges will increase the resort’s capacity by 48 bedrooms, enhancing its appeal for weddings, events, and corporate retreats.
Beyond luxury, the development will breathe new life into an underused area of the estate. Through rewilding and restoration, the project supports Mar Hall’s long-term commitment to nature and conservation, from the introduction of a peaceful bee garden to the revival of the original fountain, rose garden, and knot garden.
Each lodge will include bicycles for guests to explore the estate and nearby Luss, while the newly refurbished pool and spa offer a restorative end to the day.
Part of a wider transformation led by Align Partners for Dutco, the lodges mark a bold new chapter in Mar Hall’s journey, and a renewed promise of refined, nature-connected luxury.
